DAVID WITHAM, longtime musical director for George Benson, is one of L.A.'s finest jazz pianists, his diverse range of performing experience including work with Jose Feliciano, Ernie Watts, Lee Ritenour, Patti Austin, k.d. lang, Larry Carlton, and Michael and Randy Brecker. Jon Crosse is heard to good advantage on the David Witham CD, "On Line."

 

Legendary L.A. bassist  PUTTER SMITH has had a lifetime of jazz experience with artists including Thelonius Monk, Duke Ellington, Billy Eckstein, Lee Konitz, Tootie Heath, Blue Mitchell, Burt Bacharach, Errol Garner, Manhattan Transfer, Shelly Manne, Nick Brignola and many others of equally impressive stature.

 

JON CROSSE   A Los Angeles musician and teacher since 1976, Jon Crosse has enjoyed performing with many jazz greats including Clare Fischer, Benny Carter, Victor Feldman, Michel Colombier, Wayne Shorter and John Patitucci. Jon's sound has been heard on many films and recordings, and as musical director and sax soloist with Paul Anka since 1994 he has performed worldwide, been televised in many countries and conducted many major symphony orchestras.

 PAUL KREIBICH studied at Berklee College of Music and Los Angeles City College while drumming with Carmen McRae, Ray Charles, the Woody Herman Band, Joe Pass, Rosemary Clooney, and Lee Konitz, His many recordings include work with Dianne Reeves, Conte Candoli, Cedar Walton, James Moody, Kenny Burrell and many other illustrious names in jazz.

 

Grammy-winning percussion master  LUIS CONTE has long been of major importance in his field, touring and recording with Madonna, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Santana, Jackson Browne, Celine Dionne, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, fellow Cuban Arturo Sandoval and a huge array of other greats of many genres of music.

 

CLARE FISCHER is truly one of the iconic pianists and composer/arrangers of American music history. His playing and writing have contributed to the recorded work a tremendous variety of great artists, including Dizzy Gillespie, the Hi-Los, Cal Tjader, Chaka Khan, Branford Marsalis, Natalie Cole, Sergio Mendes, Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Art Pepper, Joao Gilberto and Paula Abdul.

 

CARMEN MCRAE, part of jazz history since the 40's as singer and pianist at Harlem's birthplace of bebop, Minton's Playhouse, includes in her huge body of recorded work such greats as Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Ben Webster, Art Farmer, Louis Armstrong and countless others.

 

FREDDIE HUBBARD'S brilliant musical career started in his native Indianapolis with Wes Montgomery. He was soon in New York, playing with jazz luminaries such as Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, McCoy T Patti Austin, k.d. lang, Larry Carlton, and Michael and Randy Brecker. Jon Crosse is heard to good advantage on     Manne, Nick Brignola and many others of equally impressive stature.

 

MEL GRAVES left Ohio for California in the 60's and soon became the bassist in the Denny Zeitlin trio and the Jerry Hahn Brotherhood, making national recordings with each. He has long been Director of Jazz Studies at Sonoma State University and much in demand in San Francisco, playing frequently with Mose Allison, Joe Henderson, Dewey Redman, Benny Wallace and and many other greats.
